Interactive Virtual Reality 360° Panoramas

The following panorama photos were taken by stitching standard horizontal or vertical photos together using special software, and then rendered into an interactive 360 degree scene using a javascript plug-in. THIS GIVES YOU A FULL IMMERSION EXPERIENCE. Viewing them requires no extra software, but you have to save the files on your harddrive first and then view them. When you click on the photos below you download a self-executing zip-file that will store the files on your harddrive. Because of that, you are likely to get a security warning from your browser which you can safely ignore.

Click on each photo to load it! Then click on "open file", and after the download is completed you can decide where to save the files on your harddrive. Then click on the .html file of the three files that were saved (e.g. mainstreet_pan_vr360.html) to view the interactive panorama. Important: your browser must allow Java to be executed (which is sometimes disabled in the security options menu) and must support Java.

(download should take about 1-2 minutes using a 56K modem.)

Immerse yourself in the vast grazing ranges of the Qinghai Himalaya plateau, close to Xipusha township. Thousands of yak and sheep graze up here, forming the livelihood basis for the Tibetan minorities living in this remote part of the world.
