The JHF exposure trip to Inner Mongolia in early April 2003 was not only memorable but also a fun experience. Our team visited different places and villages, both existing and potential future project sites, discussed potential rural and community development initiatives, looked at wells and greenhouses, and enjoyed huge loads of traditional Mongolian food. Enough...see for yourself!
The community development team, visiting a school in Bayinhua where JHF sponsors children. This is an area where JHF considers doing agricultural extension work in the future.
Ni hao! Welcome to one of Inner Mongolia's most popular mode of transportation :).
Off we go, exploring the vast countryside in a rattling bus.
Shy and curious, the school kids stare at the white faces who scramble to take photos of them.
This is pure magic! The local kids stare with a mixture of joy and amazement at their own photo, taken just seconds ago.
Even in Kulun, the township centre, life is still largely very basic and simple. Foreigners rarely ever come here.
Joy at our visit - this family received medical assistance from JHF in the past and welcomes us warmly.
